Short Stay Home

Since August 19 2003 we have opened a short- stay home. Battered women and children, deserted by their husbands and other relatives are given shelter temporarily after assessing their situation. Mean while, efforts are taken to summon their opposite parties and settle the issue, so that a congenial and tolerable atmosphere is created for them to go back. Old women abandoned by their children and sisters harassed by their brothers are also admitted, depending on the nature of the case.

INAUGURATION OF SHORT STAY HOME

Anweshi has commenced a Short Stay Home for women and children.The inauguration of the short stay home was done at a function at Calicut by renowned writer Shri. M.T Vasudevan Nair. Mr. T.O Sooraj I.A.S., District Collector, Calicut, Sister Nirmal, Retd. Principal, Providence College, Calicut, Smt. M. T Padma, former minister and various other dignataries from various industry took part in this function. Anweshi President, Ms. K. Ajitha welcomed the gathering and Secretary V.R Anitha rendered the vote of thanks.

The short stay home enables anweshi to give shelter to the victimized women and childredn while their cases are settles by counselling, legal or other means and till they are ready for return to normal life. in cases of extreme violence and at critical moments of these client’s lives, the shelter provided by us have saved many lives from suicide. Since its inception 314 women and children have been admitted to the short stay home comprising of 204 women and 110 children.
